UECM VS Makati Hope Game

May 16th, 2008 by deinonchyus

Last April 27, I played for United Evangelical Church of Malabon or for short, UECM. It was our second meeting with them in 2008. The first meeting was last January at UECM. Now, it was there turn to host and after the first service, we headed off to Makati. Before the game, we ate lunch first with the Makati Hope players. After a short introduction, Uncle Billy blows the whistle signaling the start of the game.
Feeling the heat of the game, I got 2 quick 3’s and a put back. Our Hard defense, sneaky steals, fast break plays, and man-to-man D  paid off to a 18-6 lead.  I  had 14 first quarter points to extend the UECM lead. Meanwhile in the middle of the 2nd quarter, we had trouble inbounding and bringing the ball up and our lead has been shortened. Turnovers after turnovers made our huge lead to a single-digit lead at the end of the first half.
Jeremy and Ian sparked at the start of the 3rd quarter to keep our lead alive. The aggressiveness of Jeremy to the ring and Ian’s monster rebounding and  block shots has been a great factor for UECM. During the 3rd both teams getting emotional resulting to hard fouls, desperate shots and a suppose technical play happened.
At the mid of the 4th quarter, Makati Hope took over the game with a 3-point lead. But a cross court pass by D.R. Yam to Ian tied the game at 87-87. Ian was able to answer back with back-to-back 3’s and UECM regains the lead. A block shot by Ian, a drive to the basket by Nikko ended the game with UECM taking home the victory of 101-96.
My birthday was the day after the game, and ahia Elliott and me had a deal that if we lost, I would be the one to treat the team. Since we had a job well done, thanks to my teammates, and of course Ahia Elliott for the pizza, it was truly a game to remember.

All the glory to God for the game! =D

Is It Possible To Stop Global Warming?

March 26th, 2008 by deinonchyus

I have researched on Global Warming and it seems that the causes of Global Warming is more on wastes and pollution. When we dispose our garbage at home, do you know where it ends up? Sure it ends up with the garbage man or the garage truck. But where does it really end up? That is why there is a place called a dump site. Where all the garbage ends up. It does not end there. They burn the mountain high of trash and the smoke that comes out of it is one of the effects of Global Warming.
Smoke is one major cause of Global Warming. The smoke from the factories that produce all kinds of machineries and technologies.  Smoke coming from our vehicles is also another cause. Smoking or lighting a cigar can contribute to this cause, even though the smoke from a cigar is just like a spark. But if you combine all smokers into one place, imagine what it would it be like.
Improper throwing of waste is another major cause. You see, when you throw candy wrappers, plastics, your bus ticket, your already contributing to Global Warming. You say candy wrappers, bus tickets are small how can they contribute to Global Warming? As they say, small things become BIG things. It all starts first with small things. When it rains, it pours. I mean when it rains, it floods. Why does it flood? Again, small things become BIG things. Small drops of rain can cause floods and deaths. The small pieces of wrappers and bus tickets can clog the drainage of the canals and how can the water drain? It is just like your sink when you have many dirt in it, how can the water pass through? If everyone of us throws little pieces of garbage properly,oh what a world it would be.=)
Lastly, the effects are the ice from Antarctica would melt and a lot of hurricanes, floods, tsunamis would come up.  Maybe you are just experiencing an inch of Global Warming right now. Maybe until the day you die, you just experienced an inch of Global Warming. Why would you care?
The heat of summer we are experiencing now is just nothing compare to what might happen years from now when everyone is panicking. Panicking on what? I guess when everyone finally takes it seriously.

There is one way to stop Global Warming. Only one way. If the whole world will go back to the stone age. No cars, no technologies, just live a plain and simple life like the people did a long time ago. Then it will be possible to stop Global Warming. The question is, will the modern people of 2008 and for the years to come allow that? I leave you that question.

Jeepney Driver Bumps Jeepney Driver Because of Passengers

November 30th, 2007 by deinonchyus

Last Monday, Novemeber 26, 2007, around 11:35am i was riding on a jeepney to UST. My jeepney stopped at Munoz to wait for passengers. Around 5 minutes later, some people are on their way to ride on the jeepney I was on, then suddenly a vacant jeepney wizzed past us and parked in front of our jeepney. The coming passengers rode the jeepney that just passed us instead of the jeepney I was on. The jeepney driver of our jeep was so furious that he started to curse the other driver. The other driver just ignored him. About a minute later, 3 more passenegers rode on the other jeepney. Then the other jeepney started to accelerate. The driver of the jeepney I was on saw that his words were not doing any good, he started his engine and went after the other jeepney. When our jeep got near the other one, the jeepney I was on bumped the other jeepney on the left side. It was not that hard, but it made us passengers topple on each other. The damage was not that serious, only a few scratches and bumps. Our jeepney got separated with the other jeepney when a few passengers rode on our jeepney. (I hope the driver is happy now.) The last words of my jeepney driver to the other one was so clear to me and this is what he said: "Humanda ka P**** mo..babalikan kita sa terminal, G*** ka!!!" The driver of my jeepney kept on cursing until we reached Welcome Rotonda.

Well, that is some news for a day. Comment on what you think of my news. =)

Trip to Cebu-Dumagute

May 21st, 2007 by deinonchyus

We just got home yesterday from Dumaguete and wished that we could extend our stay…but it’s alright. I’ll start off with my trip to Cebu. Inside the airport at manila, we met my physics teacher Sir Casey. What a surprise it was and also a coincidence that we’re on the same destination—to Cebu! While waiting in the terminal, we chatted with him and a few of our friends that we met too, Achi Renita, Achi Sheilah. and Achi Evelyn. They’re going to Bora…wish I could exchange flight tickets with them…hehehe! After getting off the plane, we took pictures with Sir Casey and separated ways when we got to our hotels. We ate lunch and dinner with a deacon and he would treat us to anything we like…especially the coffees and desserts after dinner. Then I met my ol’e neighbor Nathan and my classmate Stuart. Nathan is my basketball challenger in BSOP  and he just left for Cebu last 2 weeks ago. Stuart is my clasmate since grade 6 till 2nd year high school and then he left for cebu. He really grew in his faith in Jesus. Then we ate dinner with Sir Casey and lunch and we rode on a ship bound for Dumaguete! But what a bore it was…we rode on a 10pm ship and my dad said we’ll reach there around 5am. Soo what I did was text and sleep. But what a breeze it was and the stars look beautiful. I woke up around quarter to 5 just in time to see the ship park in the docks of Dumaguete! The place that I love and was born in. Uncle junny fetched us and we stayed at their house. They got a dog that loves to be chased and likes to steal stuff. We visited the church after lunch and I met my cuz Richard, my best friend in Dumaguete Ahia Thomas and a couple of my friends. It has been 2 years since I last saw them. Then I played basketball with Ahia Thomas and he’s got the shot of McGrady. My cuz Richard too is good in basketball and we were teammates in a 2-on-2 match-up. We won because of him and I couldn’t shoot well. I got a good excuse for that because the ring was quite small and hard to shoot on. But really, if I play in a really good court like the one in the NBA…I’m not that bad as a shooter. hehehe! But Richard and I have been good together since our childhood years. We do mischief in school and always gets punished by the teacher. hahaha! =) I had a fun time in dumaguete as I w\always do…and I owe it all to my friends there. On Sunday, the members were shocked at my height and stuff and they said we looked like Koreans. Yuuuckkkkk!!!! I’d rather be an American. So we chatted with most of the members and they remember us as little boys and girl about 5 years of age. The most surprising thing is that they read my blog! hahaha! Better pst up some comments….=P That afternoon…there was a wedding and my dad officiated it. I saw a person that brightened my day and night and I know that some Dumaguete people know who the person is. Shhhhh…hehehe! On our last day at Dumaguete, we ate lunch with the teensa and DVBS volunteers. Wish that I could volunteer…hehehe! I know how to dance it…hahaha! Well..that’s all…hope you had fun reading this. See you next year!!! =)

Trip to Puerto Galera

May 2nd, 2007 by deinonchyus

Recently, we went to Puerto Galera—the land of the white beach! hahaha! =) Well, on the day that we were going to Puerto, I woke up early. That’s all! hahaha! No way, I never write short posts. After a 3-hour bus trip, we reached the port in which we are going to ride a ship to the white beach of Puerto Galera. When I got off the bus, some guys that own private boats came to me and they asked me, " Sir white beach, white beach?" It was a little bit funny because I just watched Epic Movie and the bad character there was the White Bitch of Gnarnia. Well, the guys at the port kinda pronounced it like this, "Sir, white bitch, white bitch?" hahahaha! =) We had to wait 1 and a half hours for our ship to arrive and i was so bored…finally after a few minutes…the ship arrived and it is a 1 hour trip to get there. Let’s do a bit of forwarding…the next day, we went to the beach. There was so many people and it was damn hotta! We rented a bangka and went snorkling. It was fun! You get to see many different kinds of fish and when you have food, it is like a college of fish is around you! After the snorkling, a bowl of cold halo-halo to make you cool during the summer’s heat. We stayed at the resort for the night. The next day, we rode a bananan boat. It’s like 10 people riding on it and a speedboat towing it. It was fun and they would let us fall off in the middle of the sea! hahaha! On the way back, I got stung by a bunch of jellyfish! Boy when I get my hands on one, it’ll die a slow and painful death! It really itched for days! At least I had so much fun.

By the way, the Lakers lost today and their eliminated…I feel sorry for all you Lakers fan. Don’t worry, there’s always a next time! I too am a Lakers fan.

My Experiences At DVBS

March 30th, 2007 by deinonchyus

We had our DVBS last week and its theme is "God’s All-Star Champions." Some of us were student volunteers and we get to help out during the DVBS. Me, Ian, and Kristine were positioned in the Levels 1 and 2 group. A lot of teachers are saying that these 2 levels are the toughest and hard to handle. Well, i agree with them. On the first day of DVBS, they were right, the kids were a pain in the neck. They won’t listen to you, they’ll talk back, they kept on fighting, and some just kept on complaining. For the whole week, there was 2 kids that kept on fighting and would’nt stop. We really disciplined them on the last day. I had patience on them since they are still little, but my patience ran out on the last day. I got mad at a few boys for their behaviour and guess what? Since then till the closing ceremony, they listened to every orders I say. Do we have to shout and get mad at them for them to listen to us?!? Well, I got mad at them, and they started to listen to me then. After the ceremony, we got to eat at an eat-all-you-can restaurant. Our hard works has paid-off. But it is a joy for us to help and get to know the kids. They are really fun to be with. Helping them with crafts and even just inserting the straw inside the juice brings joy into my heart! Well, that’s all! I just want to thank God for the opportunity and experience in helping in our DVBS.

My Sister

March 26th, 2007 by deinonchyus

My sister wants me to write a blog about her, so I’ll just write her one. This blog is dedicated to my sister. Well, I knew my sister for 15 years and since I was a kid (like duh!). So much for that introduction, I’ll start off with the positive side of my sister.  Well, I appreciate having a sister because she is always there to help me. When I need help in choosing stuff in the mall, she would help me and when I needed help in my studies, she would help me. She helped me with my grammar and endnotes in my term paper and even though it took us till midnight. She was willing to help me finish it. I owe her a lot on that. If she has a positive side, she also has a negative side, right? But it is not that negative…well, she is always lazy when it comes to sports. she would play badminton or basketball or volleyball when she’s in the mood. But she is rarely in the mood, she is always not in the mood. Sometimes, she needs to use the computer for her studies and when she uses it, I can’t play NBA 07. I can only play it in the desktop and when she is using it, I have to use the laptop and I don’t like playing the games in the laptop; it’s too boring. Even  if I ask for a game, she wouldn’t let me use it. Sometimes, she would lie on my bed and do her homework there and scatter her paper around. I can’t go to her bed, but she can. That’s why I always drive her off my bed. Even though she is like that, I still enjoy having her as a sister. Well, that is all I can think of…hey sis, if you read this blog, leave a comment. Please stand by for more of my blog updates. Thanks!

Life With Ianna

March 26th, 2007 by deinonchyus

This blog is dedicated to my good friend Ianna Ma. I have been granted the permission to write about her and anything about her. You should ask permission first before writing about someone. Before I start, I would like to tell you a brief information about her. I first knew Ianna when we were in Grade 6. But we weren’t in the same section. We became friends when we were in 2nd year high school and we became close friends in 3rd year and became closer in 4th year. I thought she was kind and a silent type of girl when I first knew her, but I was wrong. I’ll tell you all about it.
Ianna was really kind…as in very kind! We would talk about great things and share stories and experiences. i don’t know what has got into her..but since we turned 4th year, she is starting to act funny. I think it is already her real nature acting like that. She would come to me and either hit me hard in the stomach or slap me hard on the face. She would glare at me with her scary eyes and just stare at me for minutes. Sometimes, while I am talking with people, especially Kristine, she would sit between us or suddenly butt into the conversation. Well, I just try to accept what she really is and I really owe her a lot because maybe without her, my last year in high school would be a bore. Oh yeah, lastly, you really can’t understand her. She would make fun of you and after a minute, you too would make fun of her, but she would sometimes get mad. Her mood and temperaments would change unexpectedly or in a blink. So you should be careful when you mock her. But she really is a great friend, fun to hangout with and fun to talk to. You can also share secrets with her and she will really keep it to herself. Well Ianna, have fun in college! Hope that we could still see each other even though we will be miles away. But it would be better if we don’t see each other again like the other girl in our class. Joke! =P That’s all! Please leave a comment, especially you, Ianna.

My School Year

March 23rd, 2007 by deinonchyus

Well…summer vacation is just a round the corner. I can already feel the summer breeze and heat and the smell of nature when summer arrives. After a long year of PACEs and projects, all my hard work has paid off. Just last week, I was able to finish my term paper and 2 weeks ago, I was done with my last PACE and after many years of doing PACEs, I won’t have to answer a PACE ever again. hehehe….=)

The school year was so fast and its like just yesterday that the school started. I want to talk about my school year. Well, this year was the best school year of my life because many new and unexpected things happened to me. For a start, I joined the Music Contest and it was the first time I won and I improved a lot in basketball, especially when I shoot from downtown or 3’s. On our last game in the intramural, I scored 16 points and 12 rebounds, and on our championship game, I got 13 points and 11 rebounds. These last 2 games were my best game since joining the intramural last year. I hope that I won’t just stop there and could still improve. Well, I think I still can because just a few days ago, I played basketball with some of my classmates and I was able to drain a lot of shots. hehe..=)
Last Feb was Valentine’s Day and when it’s Valentine’s, we always give our love ones a gift. You guys all know who I was courting and it didn’t turn out so well. Anyway,  you really can’t understand love. In just a snap of a finger, your falling in love with someone else. Well, I that is what happened to me. She was always there for me throughout the year and I shared with her more of my current affairs than the one I was courting. She is fun to be with and I would feel lonely every time she is not around. She’s also my inspiration when I’m playing basketball. Well, that’s all, wait for another update on my blog. please leave a comment. Thanks! =)
