Hunting

Sunday, May 21st, 2006

Dear Diary, naw.. ummm… Hey Diary… nOpe….. Oh Diary… Yiiick!!! Let’s just stick to the normal words I say.

Vacation is startin’ to end. But I have no fear because I had a fun Summer.     Learned a lot of new things, experiences, and my basketball improves a lot.  LAst month, I learned how to hold a rifle. My dad taught me how and we went hunting—hunting for wild pigeons. Our hunting area is in a piggery. But they also sold bird feeds. that’s why hundreds of pigeons go there to mate and eat the sacks with holes. And the land was very big. So the owner of the piggery showed us around the place and he told us to do whatever we wanted to with the pigeons. So the hunting season started. My dad made the first shot and down came the pigeon. Oh yeah, if you shot one pigeon down, you’ll have to switch to another spot because they’ll fly away and rest at an another place. My spot was in the warehouse where the feeds are kept. But you see, It’s really hard to shoot in the warehouse. The roof is very high and it’s dark and you have to point your gun vertically. Good thing is… I can climb on the higher sack s of feeds and shoot in a comfortable way. I only got one in the bodega. Like I said shoot one shot and the flock will find a new place for a while. So I went to join my dad and bro in the piggery. It stinks, you know!!! I found a pigeon resting on a roof. I sqwuatted down and got ready to shoot… But somethin’ behind me touched me. Guess what it is? A pig’s snout!!! How can I concentrate on shooting the pigeon if a pig’s snout is right behind me. What I did was i rushed the shot and ran from the pigs. I was able to hit the pigeon, but it requires 3 shots. The pigeons there are healthy because of the feeds they eat daily. We got a total of 16 pigeons. My dad shot the most. And you know, he kills rats outside our house just for practice. This week, we’re going to fish.

Yesterday, I played basketball with MIchael, Ernest, and Timothy. And I was teamed up with Michael. We made a 7-1 run and they were’nt able to shoot because I’m good in stealing and Michael in blocking. Since I’m an outside shooter and Micheal’s an inside guy, I can easily pass him an alley-oop and he gives me a great pass for a 3-pointer!!! I drained 5 3- pointers and michael got a few shots and 2 alley-oops. So we beat them and the final score is 18-6 in 5 minutes. I really love this game. =) I’m not boasting…=)

Vacation

My vacation this year is fun. Sort of… After our Recognition Day, it was finally summer!!! I could feel the summer air. Since my bro got honors, we went out to eat. We ate at an eat-all-you-can restaurant and guess who ate the most?

The next day, I started to do my daily routines. First, I had my devotions and breakfast. I helped around the house and in the afternoons, I do whatever I want. Like surfin’ in the net, watch a few shows on TV, and of course, basketball in the late afternoon. After dinner, I usually watch NBA, but if they didn’t have a game, I play NBA. So these are my daily activities. Sometimes, we go bowlin’ and recently, I did a crucial spare and strike! If I didn’t made that at the last turn, my dad would be first and my mom second. Since I got it, I was first for the first time. I’m not really into bowlin’ just havin’ some fun and trying out a new sport.

Two weeks ago, we came back from Baguio. It wasn’t that cold since it’s summer. At least I could experience a few cool days instead of being stuck in Manila Heat wave. I celebrated my birthday In Don Henrico’s and the all of the people working there sang me a song. We ate with of my Uncle and Aunt. Most of the gifts I received were NBA merchandise like a mug, armband, bracelet, and towel. After Baguio, we left for Dagupan. We went to a fish farm and I saw the biggest lapu-lapu there and it’s about 15 kilos. they were cross-breeding tilapias with other fishes. They had bangus, and most of the fishes you see in pet shops. I couldn’t get a picture because the waters are dark. I got only the shrimp. Next day, we headed for the Hundred Islands. They had names for every Island and it’s really cool. The waters are clean, white sand, but It’s crowded. As we headed back, we were just in time for the Bangus festival. It’s like the whole Dagupan people are celebrating. And guess what we had for dinner? Lots and lots of Bangus. Everyday, you’ll see a Bangus at our table. I had to eat it for 4 days straight. So far, these are all my experiences this summer.

Oh yeah, soon, I’m going to start to drive our car. But for now,I’m still learning.

My dad is letting me read a book about Grace. I learned a lot from it. Like Grace is a gift from God and without God’s Grace, we will be thrown into the abyss. Since His Grace is unmeasurable, we are saved through Christ. And there are differen kinds of Grace. I’m still reading it and that’s all I know for now.

Basketball

Im soo tired of losin’ to my bro. It’s normal to lose… but I lost several times already. I admit, he’s really good with the defense. I’m good in the offense. You know, everytime I shoot the ball, it goes from my hand smoothly. When it reaches the ring, it would slip off the ring! When we play, we have standings. So mine is 20-37. 20 wins, 37 loss. My shoti’s, vice-versa. And what makes me mad is that when I shoot the ball when I practice, it goes in, but when it goes to playin’ with my bro, always defeat. I mean sometimes, defeat. Oh well, guess I have to practice harder. I hope some of you could play with me so that I can get  better, hehe..=)

In NBA, I got no one to cheer for. First, the Boston Celtics didn’t make it to the playoffs, The L.A. Lakers lost to the Phoenix Suns and now, The Cleveland Cavaliers are eliminated by the Detroit Pistons. I got a tip for you if you want to get better in basketball. You have to observe the NBA players how they shoot and dribble. It might help… but it worked for me. I just hope the Pistons, Mavericks, and Suns would lose. I hope the Heat wins!!
