Music Contest

February 15th, 2007 by deinonchyus

Hey guys!!!! It’s been a while since I last wrote my last blog. But don’t worry, I’m going to update it now. Guess what??! Today, we had our singing contest. The whole high school  were battling for the gold and I joined the  double-duet and the group category. Well, some of my classmates won the solo and duet category. You see, we only had 4 categories: solo, duet, double-duet, and group or choir category. So after quite some time, it was finally our turn. Me, Sabina, Kristine, and Nikko sang and dance the song, "What I’ve Been Looking For". I’m sure you all know the song, since everyone at least had watch the movie "High School Musical" at least 1 time, right? Going back to the contest, it went quite well, and we didn’t expect it, but we got 1st place! Yahoo! We were so happy! It was my 1st time to win, and my second time to join the Music Contest. The first time I joined was when I was 1st year high school. I’m really happy! And our costumes were also cool! I also gave a promise to a special person that we’re going to get 1st place in the letter that I wrote to her. We did it! Thanks. Hey Kristine, Sabina, and Nikko, if ever you read this blog, congrats and thank you.
I also want to congratulate those who got awards. More power to you guys!!!!

Open Season

October 29th, 2006 by deinonchyus

We watched Open Season last night and it was good. You guys have to watch it. It’s super funny and has a great story. One of the funniest part was that a rabbit used a spoon to hit the hunter! hahaha!!!! Guess what?! we watched the whole movie all by ourselves. There was no one behind us, between us, or in front of us. It was awesome! If you liked Madagascar, The Wild, I’m sure you’ll love this movie too. It’s way better and funnier! Check it out!
I’ll give you the recap of the story.  An officer found a bear cub and trained it as a pet. Finally, she had to let go of him. The bear met an one-horned buck and they became partners. All the animals lived behind the waterfalls to hide from the hunters. If they are down there, they will be like sitting ducks. An accident caused by the bear made all the animals slide down the falls into the hunting grounds. So they had to make a way to win over the hunters. They made a raid overnight and took useful weapons like spoons, forks, knives, and they used undergarments as slingshots. In the end they won over the hunters. Well, that’s all.Just watch it. I gaurantee you will enjoy it. =)

Teachers VS Varsity

October 7th, 2006 by deinonchyus

Last Wednesday, the varsity battled the QCCA faculty. We all had fun. The starting 5 of the faculty was Sir Ronnel, Pastor  Ed, Kuya  Joven, Sir Casey, and Haw-Tiu. It was a close game because Sir Ronnel was getting  hot. Haw -Tiu had to sub after a few minutes because he tripped. Everyone was cheering for him. I couldn’t shoot on the first Quarter because I wasn’t  hot yet. But when second quarter came, I was starting to "feel the game". After I chased a loose ball to the 3-point line, I got it and just shot it. Unexpectedly, it went in! That was Pio’s assist. After that I shot a fade-away! Ma’am Baben was hit by Timots. He’s bad!!! Naw.. it was just an accident. So Haw-tiu went in again. When Pastor passed to him the ball, he tried to dribble it. while dribbling, he tripped and fell again. Poor Haw-tiu! So the game still goes on. The faculty got hot on the last quarter and they won over us, 88-85. Ma’am Jenny and Ma’am Baben are the best. Even though they are girls, they’re still willing to play. And you know, Ma’am Jenny can shoot from the 3-point line. Not all "men" can shoot from there. We also got good comentators, Stephen and Ian. With both of them talking, the game was more exciting. I’m sure this game is a highlight and will always be remembered in QCCA’s history.

Crocodile Hunter

September 21st, 2006 by deinonchyus

Steve Irwin "Croc Hunter" was a person I look up to. I admire his work as an educator. But he’s not an educator that just read a book to you about Crocs or snakes. He makes it really interesting. He would go near the croc and make fun of it and he even gets chased by the croc! Now that’s a real educator. Every time I watch Animal PLanet, I always see him. But when I heard about his death 2 weeks ago, I felt sad, but also that his life wasn’t wasted. He did a lot of climbing, swimming, and hunting just to let us know more about certain animals up close. One of the funniest part I remember was him running fast and sliding down with the Penguins on his stomach. He was like racing with the penguins downhill. Man, that was funny! I learned a lot about him especially about crocs. How crocs hunt, how to catch them, and how they move. I’m sure he was able to achieve his goal—- to help the endangerd animals and to tell us more about them. I hope that his son or daughter will be like him in the future. He really is one of the people I admire and all I wish is that someone will continue in his footsteps. I’m really proud of him. Never in my life had I seen a Man so daring to go near a dangerous animal that one mistake would either injure or kill him. He maximized what he has and what he can do. I hope all of us can be like him too. Not a croc hunter, but to do best on what God has in store for all of us.

AM I A Survivor????

August 30th, 2006 by deinonchyus

 A few
days before our field trip, we had an orientation about where we’ll be going,
what things to bring, and what we’ll be doing. In one of the pictures, it
showed a group that was covered with mud from head to toe. We thought we
wouldn’t have to go through that, but we were wrong. So here goes my story…

 Upon
arriving at the place, we did a few stretching exercises, while the others went
to the bathroom. After a few minutes of waiting, we were finally off for an
adventure. We reached a river that was about knee-high deep and most of us were
hesitant to cross it. However, we had to and my poor rubber shoes sank into the
river. That was just the first step in going to the first cave. The walk to the
first cave took us 20 minutes and the trail to get there was slippery and
muddy. The cave was underground and we had to go a long way down. We reached a
spot in the cave that had a circle in the middle and it was like a dried lake.
Our educator recited a prayer and after the prayer, he told us to sing along
with him. But the song was made-up, and we sang along like a bunch of crazy
people. The exit to the first cave was very hard and it was the longest too.

 The
second cave was known as the hospital cave and it was not that long, but it was
the place where the Katipuneros kept the injured Katipuneros. There’s nothing
much to talk about this cave, but the next cave is my favorite!

 The
third cave is my favorite because it’s where they store the food and supplies.
The place was huge and it is like our canteen, but way bigger. The ground was
steep on the way down and I accomplished one thing: I did a split! It was a
hard experience. I also named this cave the “Dancing Cave.” It’s like you’re
dancing when you walk because of the slippery mud; it is also like skating in
the mud. So our educator recited a prayer again.

 The
next cave is known as the place where the Katipuneros accepted new members.
There I learned their 3 passwords, which were names of famous heroes. Again,
our educator recited a prayer. But this time, Ma’am Baben also recited a prayer
and afterwards, we prayed the “Lord’s Prayer” in Chinese. So next in our
schedule is Lunch Time!!!

 We
ate in the bus and we shared each other’s lunch. After we ate, we got ready to
visit 2 more caves—the Aguinaldo cave and the bat cave. To get to the bat cave,
we had to cross a river that was up to our hips, the water was cold, and Sir
Casey was waiting to soak us. The way to the bat cave was full of big
centipedes and when we arrived there, the place was packed with bats. On the
way back, we saw the biggest tree in the Philippines. It’s so big and high and
also the lookout place to watch for the Spaniards. You can’t bring it down with
a chainsaw, or bullets, because of its thick trunk. What’s more, some of my
friends went rappelling. Too bad for me, I left my waiver at the fridge. On our
way back, we had to cross the river again and we had so much fun there. We
soaked each other wet, including the teachers, and it was really fun.

Our last stop was the Aguinaldo cave. It was the office of General
Aguinaldo and it was also his resting place. The water in the cave was deep. It
reached somewhere up to my shoulders. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see his
office because you have to dive to see it. The current there was strong and the
water was freezing cold. After that, it was time to leave. We let the girls
change in the bus. While we, the gentlemen, changed in the streets. Our
educator changed in the middle of the road.

I am a survivor because I was able to finish the race. I mean, the trip.
I endured the mud, the freezing water, and darkness of the caves, the insects,
the rain and the heat of the day. I had to squat, kneel, and crawl. I also did
a split. Some gave up in the beginning, some in the middle, but still, I kept
on going for the prize. So I deserve to be called a “SURIVOR.” If God didn’t
give me His strength, protection and, most of all, His guidance throughout the
trip, you will never be able to call me a “Survivor.”

School

July 7th, 2006 by deinonchyus

You know yesterday in our T.H.E.,  our  teacher was very boring. And for the past years in our T.H.E., all we do is draw, sketch, and do art stuff. But now, it’s about Home Nursing! If only she was  nicer and  always cheerful,  I’ll  like  her subject.
About my other subjects, it’s cool.  And our teacher in LAB and computer are the same. But he says he’s 2 in 1.
Last Tuesday, I was drafted into the varsity. And I admit that without the help from God and prayers from my friends, I wouldn’t have been chosen.
My teamates this year are great!!!

To my friends who read this, you can put comments. Ok? And I hope that you post a blog, too, so that I can read your blog(s).

Hunting

May 21st, 2006 by deinonchyus

Dear Diary, naw.. ummm… Hey Diary… nOpe….. Oh Diary… Yiiick!!! Let’s just stick to the normal words I say.

Vacation is startin’ to end. But I have no fear because I had a fun Summer.     Learned a lot of new things, experiences, and my basketball improves a lot.  LAst month, I learned how to hold a rifle. My dad taught me how and we went hunting—hunting for wild pigeons. Our hunting area is in a piggery. But they also sold bird feeds. that’s why hundreds of pigeons go there to mate and eat the sacks with holes. And the land was very big. So the owner of the piggery showed us around the place and he told us to do whatever we wanted to with the pigeons. So the hunting season started. My dad made the first shot and down came the pigeon. Oh yeah, if you shot one pigeon down, you’ll have to switch to another spot because they’ll fly away and rest at an another place. My spot was in the warehouse where the feeds are kept. But you see, It’s really hard to shoot in the warehouse. The roof is very high and it’s dark and you have to point your gun vertically. Good thing is… I can climb on the higher sack s of feeds and shoot in a comfortable way. I only got one in the bodega. Like I said shoot one shot and the flock will find a new place for a while. So I went to join my dad and bro in the piggery. It stinks, you know!!! I found a pigeon resting on a roof. I sqwuatted down and got ready to shoot… But somethin’ behind me touched me. Guess what it is? A pig’s snout!!! How can I concentrate on shooting the pigeon if a pig’s snout is right behind me. What I did was i rushed the shot and ran from the pigs. I was able to hit the pigeon, but it requires 3 shots. The pigeons there are healthy because of the feeds they eat daily. We got a total of 16 pigeons. My dad shot the most. And you know, he kills rats outside our house just for practice. This week, we’re going to fish.

Yesterday, I played basketball with MIchael, Ernest, and Timothy. And I was teamed up with Michael. We made a 7-1 run and they were’nt able to shoot because I’m good in stealing and Michael in blocking. Since I’m an outside shooter and Micheal’s an inside guy, I can easily pass him an alley-oop and he gives me a great pass for a 3-pointer!!! I drained 5 3- pointers and michael got a few shots and 2 alley-oops. So we beat them and the final score is 18-6 in 5 minutes. I really love this game. =) I’m not boasting…=)

Vacation

May 17th, 2006 by deinonchyus

My vacation this year is fun. Sort of… After our Recognition Day, it was finally summer!!! I could feel the summer air. Since my bro got honors, we went out to eat. We ate at an eat-all-you-can restaurant and guess who ate the most?

The next day, I started to do my daily routines. First, I had my devotions and breakfast. I helped around the house and in the afternoons, I do whatever I want. Like surfin’ in the net, watch a few shows on TV, and of course, basketball in the late afternoon. After dinner, I usually watch NBA, but if they didn’t have a game, I play NBA. So these are my daily activities. Sometimes, we go bowlin’ and recently, I did a crucial spare and strike! If I didn’t made that at the last turn, my dad would be first and my mom second. Since I got it, I was first for the first time. I’m not really into bowlin’ just havin’ some fun and trying out a new sport.

Two weeks ago, we came back from Baguio. It wasn’t that cold since it’s summer. At least I could experience a few cool days instead of being stuck in Manila Heat wave. I celebrated my birthday In Don Henrico’s and the all of the people working there sang me a song. We ate with of my Uncle and Aunt. Most of the gifts I received were NBA merchandise like a mug, armband, bracelet, and towel. After Baguio, we left for Dagupan. We went to a fish farm and I saw the biggest lapu-lapu there and it’s about 15 kilos. they were cross-breeding tilapias with other fishes. They had bangus, and most of the fishes you see in pet shops. I couldn’t get a picture because the waters are dark. I got only the shrimp. Next day, we headed for the Hundred Islands. They had names for every Island and it’s really cool. The waters are clean, white sand, but It’s crowded. As we headed back, we were just in time for the Bangus festival. It’s like the whole Dagupan people are celebrating. And guess what we had for dinner? Lots and lots of Bangus. Everyday, you’ll see a Bangus at our table. I had to eat it for 4 days straight. So far, these are all my experiences this summer.

Oh yeah, soon, I’m going to start to drive our car. But for now,I’m still learning.

My dad is letting me read a book about Grace. I learned a lot from it. Like Grace is a gift from God and without God’s Grace, we will be thrown into the abyss. Since His Grace is unmeasurable, we are saved through Christ. And there are differen kinds of Grace. I’m still reading it and that’s all I know for now.
